Deer Hunting at Wilkes Creek Plantation

The fog lifts as the sun warms your back…you stir from a dream and doze that found you scoping a ten point buck – in your minds eye. You realize you were napping in your stand and the noise that awakened you was coming from over your left shoulder.

Slowly, ever so cautious, you turn your head and strain your eyes to pick up movement in the hard wood bottom to your back. You spot a doe that is feeding on acorns, headed for the food plot to your left.

As you listen intently, you begin to pick up a different sound directly to your left and you position your binoculars to make out any movement. Suddenly you hear a grunt and you spot a buck breaking into the field headed straight for the doe.

The blood starts pumping as you slowly ease your rifle to the left and spot a nice ten point buck that appears to be a “shooter.” As you scope the deer, your hands begin to perspire and your breath quickens as you decide to take the shot. The Deer Hunters Paradise

You will not be put in a huge lodge with a large number of hunters when you choose Wilkes Creek Hunting Preserve. Our approach is to book a limited number of hunter and a limited number of hunts each deer season.

Our cedar interior lodge was designed to give hunters a quaint, relaxing lodge feel. You will not feel like a number at Wilkes Creek, you will just feel at home. We have single, double and quad rooms to meet the needs of any small hunting group.

We limit our bookings each year to ensure you have the best opportunities to harvest a quality deer in Alabama. Our deer herds are carefully managed throughout the year to enhance antler growth and body mass for our hunters.
